Hyman on March 6

The Brigadier General who took responsibility (see this earlier posting) was interviewed earlier this year and here's one relevant Q & A:-

When - if at all - does the IDF intend to implement changes to the way in which it utilizes its reserve forces? How will conditions for reservists be improved?

Moshav Patish, Israel

Yossi Hyman:

The IDF has reduced in a very significant way the number of reservists used in recent years. The amount of time that reserve soldiers serve has also fallen by half in the past years, and there has been a change in the age at which soldiers are released from reserve duty (at around 40 years of age for combat reservists).

Hmmmmm.
