Public Service Announcement

Important court case next week! Your presence and interest in the case is needed!

Two years ago, Israeli police attacked a minyan praying at the Kotel HaMa'aravi HaKatan [the portion of the Western Wall just to the north of the Iron Gate; see pics here] on Rosh HaShana when they began blowing shofar during the Shmona Esrei Prayers. This caused a desecration of the holiday, of the Holy Place, and a Hillul Hashem [Desecration of God's Name]. Now it is finally being discussed in court - in the Beit Mishpat Hashalom [Magistrate's Court] of Jerusalem in the Russian Compound, from 11 am - 3 pm, on 3 consecutive Sundays.

On 5 Kislev, Nov 22, the worshippers and other witnesses will testify. On 12 Kislev, Nov. 29, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, the Rabbi in charge of the Kotel HaMa'aravi and the Holy Places, has been summoned to give testimony. On 19 Kislev, Dec. 6, the policeman accused of acting violently and others will testify.

Not only is the welfare of those who pray at the Kotel HaMaaravi Hakatan at stake here. The fate of those places held to be holy and designated for prayer and honor by the Jewish People is at stake. Your interest in this case can make a difference!
