How Many Trees?

Arab claim:

UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has revealed that the Jewish settlers continued their attacks against the Palestinian farmers in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the year where they destroyed more than 7500 olive trees.

The UN's version:

(1)  In the West Bank, over 7,500 olive trees belonging to Palestinians were damaged or destroyed by Israeli settlers between January and mid October 2012, some 2,000 fewer than during the equivalent period in 2011.
(2) As the olive harvest continued, Israeli settler violence against Palestinians and their property continued this week...The total number of trees damaged by settlers since the beginning of this year’s olive harvest season is over 900.

Let's remember, the olive harvest starts around October and lasts a month or two

The weather at the time of harvest is of great importance, and experienced farmers know when it’s the right moment to start - before the wet, cold days of fall set in.
and there's
the annual JAI / ATG Olive Picking Program in Palestine from October 13th to 23th 2012
